I have been dealing with bats in the walls of my townhouse.  Mike came out the same day I called.  His pricing is very fair.  My bat issue has been solved. Thank you, Mike, for this peace of mind!!

How to Tell if You Have a Bat Infestation

Bats are mammals belonging to the order Chiroptera. They are the only mammals that can fly.

The big brown bat and the little brown bat are the more common bats in the Kansas City area.

Bats are also nocturnal animals (they come out at night). It is rare that you will see a bat during the day. They will usually come out in the late evening.

There are many ways to tell if you have a bat infestation in your home or building. One way is if you notice droppings on your floor or walls.

Another way is if you notice bats flying around your home at night. You might also hear the sound of bats flying overhead at night, which is easy to identify because it sounds like squeaks or chirps.

Sometimes you can see where they are nesting… which can be:

There was a homeowner who saw what he thought was one bat in the eave of his house. He decided to “flush” it out by spraying it with a garden hose. To his surprise, over two dozen bats flew out of that eave.

What to do if you discover you have a bat problem

First, you need to know that killing bats is illegal in both Missouri and Kansas. Bats are protected species in all fifty states.

So, don’t use poisons, traps or anything that will harm a bat.

We are not Kansas City bat exterminators.

Excluding the bats from the space they are occupying is the only way to get rid of them.

Exclusion requires a complete inspection to find where the bats can get in. Then, sealing up most of the entry points and install special one-way doors. This will let the bats out, but they can’t get back in. The last step is removing the one-way doors and sealing up the remaining entry points.
